RACHEL STRANDELL

Born and raised in the Chicagoland suburbs, I had always been a creative person. I grew up with an artistic older sister who taught me to think creatively and experiment with different art mediums. All throughout high school I was an AP art student (taking the maximum number of art courses) and President of National Art Honor Society. I eventually over-did it and got a little burnt out.

I decided to take a break from art as a whole just before leaving for college, and decided that Marketing was the new route that I wanted to take. I had always been good with numbers and grew up wanting to own my own business, and this combined those passions along with that creativity aspect I had always enjoyed. But, as a Marketing major, I always felt like a piece to the puzzle was missing….

I ventured out to the East Coast prior to starting my Junior year of college, and in hopes of discovering that missing puzzle piece. Crazy enough, I found just that. Just a few short months after moving in and a handful of freelance social media clients later, I came to my senses and realized that the missing piece all along had been the very one thing I was stubborn enough to leave behind: a career in the creative industry.

They say that everything happens for a reason, and I firmly believe that to be true.

It has been a journey to find it, but, I can proudly say that I have found the career path challenges me and leaves me feeling incredibly grateful every single day. Through being a freelance creative, I have paved my own career path that has allowed me to combine my love for all things design, digital, and fashion into one.

Thank you for taking the time to learn more about me…
